Police Investigate Plateau Monarch’s Murder

The Nigeria Police has launched an investigation into the killing of a first class traditional ruler in Plateau State, Saf Ron Kulere Lazarus Agai.

The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) in charge of Operations, Joshak Habila, said this on Friday in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

DIG Habila said that a special investigative team from the Force Headquarters has taken over the case.

A Nigerian woman has been arrested for shoplifting while on vacation in the US.

The woman identified as Jennifer Akudihor who visited from Nigeria with three of her children (two toddlers and an infant) was caught red-handed with about $2,000 worth of clothes and accessories.

According to the police, she was hiding the 66 items in shopping bags inside the stroller she was pushing through Macy's at Oak Park Mall.
Her passport was seized and she was charged with felony theft after appearing in court on Wednesday.

I just got the gist that immediate past governor of Rivers State, Chibuike Amaechi, has filed a suit at an Abuja High court against the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, its chairman, Felix Obuah, and two others, over allegations of foreign accounts ownership and embezzlement against him.

The governor is seeking from the party and its officials N300 billion for general damages done to him and defamation of his character, reputation and person.

The PDP had in a statement in August alleged that Mr. Amaechi stole $757million (N80 billion) of Rivers State public funds and stashed them away in an account in his name in Bancorp Bank in Minnesota, United States of America.
